Uni4m x Bellator MMA: The Next Chapter

It’s been a while, but in honour of Bellator fight week, we’re back with some exciting updates to share!

Uni4m Media is thrilled to extend its partnership with world-renowned mixed martial arts promotion Bellator MMA, providing the organisation with full-scale social media strategy, management and content creation services.

Uni4m has been involved in the Bellator circle since 2019, initially working alongside the BLVK agency on the Bellator Europe channels. With Uni4m CEO Andreas Georgiou becoming a more integrated member of the Bellator digital team over time, it was agreed in early 2023 that Uni4m Media would oversee all social media services for Bellator MMA.

The timing couldn’t be better either as Bellator MMA rolls through its supercharged season, stacked with unmissable events in a variety of exciting locations. Paris, Hawaii and Chicago are just a few settings that have brought us blockbusters, with Japan, Sioux Falls and Dublin lined up for the coming months. We’ve had the pleasure of experiencing the action up close and broadening our reach with every moment.

To celebrate our four-year anniversary, and the continued Uni4m x Bellator partnership, we’ll break down some of our favourite projects from the past few months! Check out our collection below.

Post It Up!

Oh Canada!

We gave a special shoutout to the fighters representing Canada on the Bellator 293 card. This was ahead of our exciting doubleheader in California — ‘The Golden State.’

In the build-up to Stots vs. Mix, we really knuckled down on fighter promotion. Raufeon Stots (red corner) and Patchy Mix (blue corner) each had their own cool poster ahead of their face-off.

Lightweight World Grand Prix (Bellator 296)

With much attention on the Bellator Lightweight World Grand Prix (LWGP), we wanted to commemorate the fights with some exciting, thematically relevant design work!

Coming to Chicago (Bellator 297)

One of the big ones recently! The Bellator crew jetted to ‘The Windy City’ for another epic showcase, headlined by the hugely anticipated Nemkov vs. Romero title fight. Our design team spruced it up by creating key artwork exclusive to the social media channels, and the series was a hit. Take a peek at one of our hottest Chi-Town posters!

Video Killed the Radio Star

This or That (296)

Pizza or Pasta? We caught up with Bellator fighter Danny Sabatello in Hawaii to fire some tricky ‘This or That’ questions at him. Filming and editing this was super fun!

Lightweight World Grand Prix (296)

As part of our LWGP campaign, we wanted to create a ‘video timeline’ to build hype around the event and preview the next quarter-final matchup. Watch the full feature!

Final Boss (296)

Inspired by classic video games like ‘Street Fighter,’ this edit was another cool twist on the Bellator LWGP bracket. Usman Nurmagomedov was our ‘final boss’ here. Ready player one? Click below to watch.

Bellator Returns to Chicago (297)

City vibes and mega fights. Bellator’s return to Chicago meant another chance to produce a cinematic preview of the ‘Champ vs. Champ’ whopper, along with the Nemkov vs. Romero world title bout. Watch it below!

Breakthrough Season

For a long time, our creative team has been the driving force for effective digital strategies. Something we’re proud of recently is the ‘second tier’ achievements, the extra walls we’ve cracked along the way. Our team explore online promotion to its very depths; hopping on current trends, engaging with fans, and doubling down on other community-based methods are just a few reasons for our backstreet breakthroughs. Here are some fun facts!

On Meta’s fresh Threads app (feature coming soon), our team quickly expanded Bellator’s digital reach with fun fight content and witty remarks. We’re currently the most followed North American combat sports (boxing or MMA) promotion on Threads outside of the UFC, and the first of such to reach 100k followers! We hit this mark within the first 48 hours of the app’s existence, and the numbers are climbing daily.

Who let the dogs out? Speaking of peak numbers, we’ve also been going viral on the Bellator TikTok. Our top performing post recently is a 7-second video of light-heavyweight title contender Yoel “Soldier of God” Romero barking, which has amassed 2 million views on the platform and a total play time of over 3,100 hours! Another smash hit came from a very unfortunate kick with over 1 million views. We’ve also grown the Bellator TikTok following by approx. 13,000 since we adopted the page, with a 75% jump in content engagement.

A strong live strategy has allowed us to enter the Twitter trending pages too, with our last Bellator event peaking at #2 in the USA (up from Bellator 296 which peaked at #5 in France). We’ve made the top 10 on the trending page for every event we’ve covered so far this year!

Lastly, the engagement rate for Bellator has shot up around event periods since our deeper involvement. On Instagram alone, our follower evolution has increased by 25% along with several other notable percentile changes. Additionally, we’ve reported nearly 600 million impressions in our first quarter, across the key platforms.

On the partnership, our CEO Andreas Georgiou said:

“After starting with Bellator in 2019, I’m honoured to continue working with the organisation in a much bigger way, supported by my team at Uni4m.”

He continued:

“Uni4m has come very far; I couldn't be more thrilled to extend our partnership with Bellator. We're about to embark on an exciting journey and take MMA entertainment to new heights. By combining our expertise in social media with the masters of action-fuelled MMA, I’m confident that our content will create unforgettable, immersive experiences to captivate fans worldwide. We'll break barriers, set new standards, and redefine the world of MMA. Get ready for a rollercoaster ride of mind-blowing events around the globe!”

Special thanks to our friends across the pond for the trust. Let’s keep crushing it!
